Jumping off the Straight Talk Express

He soooo doesn't look happy, does he?

John McCain
was being mobbed by reporters today because his two top campaign aides -- Terry Nelson and John Weaver -- quit their posts. The campaign has already laid off dozens of workers because it raised far less money than expected. The AP story by Liz Sidoti is here.

The obligatory "stay the course" quote from McCain came in an e-mail to supporters: "I'm determined to continue to face our challenges head-on and win."

Riiiiight. No matter what he says from here on out, it's pretty clear the guy is no longer a serious presidential contender.

What do you think? When will McCain drop out of the race? Or are we way off base here? Leave your comments below.
